Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

May 1970, Student-led Collective Action and the Civil Rights Movement: A KSU Alternative Winter Break Experience
Âé¶¹´«Ã½'s alternative breaks expose students to social justice and cultural issues through direct service, community engagement, reflection and a variety of cultural activities. These programs engage students in service, inform them about current social issues and encourage their ongoing involvement in social change. In December, students visited Jackson, Mississippi for a trip, themed May 1970, Student-led Collective Action and the Civil Rights Movement.

Out of This World Design Experience
Aimee Crane (Visual Communication Design - BFA ’09, MFA ’12) has the distinction of being the Kent State graduate whose work might just go the farthest. The farthest away from the Earth, that is. Currently the Artemis Brand Manager for NASA, Crane designed the mission patch for the Artemis I Mission which accompanied the Orion spacecraft on its orbit around the moon. For Gordon Stumpo, MA ’16, education is not something to leave behind after graduation. His eagerness to learn new techniques and hone his skills has propelled him forward in his career. With nearly a decade of fashion industry experience, Gordon has worked for designers like Zac Posen, Patrik Ervell and Naeem Khan, experiences that provided opportunities to create custom patterns seen on A-list celebrities including Oprah, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Mariah Carey.
